Irish actor John Kavanagh (born 1946) has appeared on stage, in more than 20 movies, including Braveheart (1995), Alexander (2004), and Cal (1984), as well as on television. He became famous most recently for playing The Seer in the Vikings series on the History Channel.
A nomination for a Drama Desk Award for his performance in a revival of Juno and the Paycock in 1989 is only one of the honors he has garnered. The Irish comedy Paddy (1970), in which Kavanagh portrayed the small part of Willie Egan, served as the launchpad for his professional career.
