American musician, Lindsey Buckingham is no longer married to his longtime wife, Kristen Messner. After 21 years of marriage and three children, Messner filed for a divorce in 2021.
When did Kristen Messner meet Lindsey Buckingham?
Lindsey Buckingham and Kristen Messner met in the 1990s when Messner photographed Buckingham for one of his solo album covers. They went on to become close friends and eventually got married in 2000.
10 years before their divorce, back in 2011, Buckingham shared that he was very lucky to have met Messner.
“I had a lot of crazy girlfriends, and a lot of that was just an outgrowth of the lifestyle we were all leading. I did see a lot of friends who were parents and spouses – back in previous decades – who weren’t really there and kind of screwed up their kids and were not there for their family situations. So I waited and I was lucky enough to meet someone relatively late… it’s worked out really well. I got all that other garbage out of the way,” he said.
Messner reportedly filed for a divorce due to several difficulties the couple faced in their two decades of marriage.
