He is a composer, musician and multi instrumentalist, best known as the lead singer of the band The Black Keys. In 2013, besides winning several Grammy Awards as a member of the band, Auerbach won the Best Producer of the Year award, in the Non–Classical category for the co-production of the album “El Camino”, and his work as a producer of the album “Locked Down” by Dr. John.
